About the photographer
An interest in photography born out of extensive travel throughout Australia, Europe and Japan was further developed through study at The Centre for Creative Photography, Adelaide, culminating in the attainment of Certificate II in Creative Photography in August 2001.
The Centre for Creative Photography
During the course of study, Janine’s mind was opened to the works of photographers such as Jan Groover, Edward Weston and Paul Strand. An interest in darkroom techniques and hand printing evolved, controlling the image from concept to completion.
Her images,
through thoughtful subject selection and composition, abstract the ordinary
with stunning results. The simple Black and White images display the
complexities of tonal values beautifully. Textures, shape and form are
enhanced through use of light and careful selection of paper.
